Carving a Legacy honors Dr. Ellen Swartz, the first woman to graduate from RIT’s woodworking program (1966), highlighting her remarkable craftsmanship and lasting influence. The exhibition showcases her woodworking achievements and examines how her creative processes continue to inspire today’s RIT students. Dr. Swartz’s groundbreaking work encourages future artisans to push the boundaries of individual expression and consider how their craft can serve the greater good.

Hosted by the AWARE-AI Program, this workshop, facilitated by Dr. Joy Olabisi, Asst Vice Provost for Graduate Education and Exec. Director of Graduate Admissions at Georgia Institute of Technology, will focus on teamwork and collaboration in research settings.

The Community Service Fair is the perfect opportunity to find out how you can volunteer in Rochester and at RIT. Over forty different community-based organizations will be at the event, looking to connect with students who can help make a difference. In the first session, we will focus on Designing Transparent Assignments. Transparent assignment design (TILT) focuses on how and why students are learning course content, concepts and skills in a particular way. Participants will explore TILT strategies that explicitly guide student engagement with AI.
