Two Tigers land Liberty League weekly honors

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Two RIT student-athletes were honored by the Liberty League with weekly honors announced, Monday. Senior diver Gellert Kish was the Men's Diver of the Week and graduate student swimmer Mike Atanasoff was the Swimmer of the Week.

Kish finished second in the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions to lead the Tigers to a sixth-place finish at the d3 Shootout at Chicago University last weekend. He recorded a season-best score of 306.95 in the 1-meter competition and a season-best score of 300.70 in the 3-meter competition.

Atanasoff swam the fifth-fastest time in the nation in the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.36 at the d3 Shootout at Chicago University, finishing behind Chicago's Jonathan Tang (20.35) and Pomona-Pitzer's Casey Jacobs (20.28). In the 100 Yard Fly, Atanasoff recorded the fourth-best time in the nation finishing in a time of 48.94, finishing tied for third in the race.
 
RIT returns to competition on Saturday (Nov. 23) at Ithaca.
